Hex socket set screw (cone point) is a headless screw whose body diameter is equal to the thread diameter, and it has a hexagonal socket for tightening with an Allen key.

It is also known as a grub screw or HS set screw. This type of screw is used for pressing against and fixing/positioning mechanical components.

The cone point type (とがり先 / cone point) features a sharp conical tip that penetrates into the mating surface, providing strong locking force and high resistance to slipping.
