A JIS hex nut is a standardized fastening component widely used in mechanical and construction applications. It has a hexagonal geometry with standardized shape, dimensions, material, and strength class. It is used in combination with bolts to secure components and is typically tightened using a wrench (spanner).
Type 1 is the most commonly used type in Japan and is chamfered on only one side.
The nut height is approximately 0.8 times the nominal thread diameter.
