Hex flange nut

A hex flange nut is a type of nut with an integrated flange at the bottom. The flange functions as a built-in washer, eliminating the need for a separate washer and improving assembly efficiency.

There are two types based on the flange surface:

  • Serrated type: provides anti-loosening performance, but may damage/scratch the mating surface
  • Non-serrated type: does not damage the mating surface, but has no anti-loosening function

Applicable standards:

JIS B 1190 (Annex JA)
DIN 6923
GB 6177.1, GB 6177.2 (fine thread)
IFI 145 (UNC thread – serrated type only)
