Button head socket screw

# Bolts

# ANSI/ASME, ISO, JIS

A hex socket button head bolt is a type of bolt with a low-profile, rounded head and an internal hex socket.

This type of bolt is tightened using an Allen key, making it suitable for applications that require a low head profile or high aesthetic appearance.

Thanks to the hex socket drive, it allows higher tightening torque, ensuring a strong and secure fastening.

It is also referred to as a button cap screw.

Applicable standards:

  • JIS B 1174
  • ISO 7380
  • ANSI/ASME B18.3BT

In Japan, this type of bolt mainly follows two standards systems:

  • SSS (Socket Screw Industry Association standard)
  • JIS

These two standards have slight differences in head dimensions; therefore, they should not be mixed to avoid assembly issues.
